According to research from AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving, there are now “63 million family caregivers in the United States, a 45% increase in the last decade.”
That’s roughly one in four adults.
Today’s caregivers are younger and more diverse than ever.
They’re Gen X, Millennials, even Gen Z. They work full-time. Some have families, some don't, some have the financial means, others struggle to support not only themselves, but their loved ones.
On average, caregivers provide 27 hours of care per week — essentially a second part-time job layered onto everything else.
Caregivers are not rare.
They are not fringe.
They are everywhere.
And their stories deserve to be heard and validated.
